Our Curriculum

At Greenhouse Farm Nursery, our curriculum is created to enhance, enrich and inspire our children to become inquisitive and active learners, stimulated by the environment that surrounds them. Underpinned by the Birth to 5 Matters framework, our approach is inspired by Reggio Emilia, incorporates ideas from Montessori, and is hugely influenced by the Forest Nurseries of Denmark, who are renowned for their incredible outdoor teachings.

Inclusivity & British Values are at the core of our Curriculum, and we strive to give children access to varied, diverse & engaging activities that provide them with the Cultural capital needed to enhance their learning experience and understand the world in which they live. From popular celebrations to individual achievements, we aim to educate in a way that sparks curiosity and raises children who are proud of who they are and what they are capable of.

We believe that our most important role is to create a warm, loving and safe space for children; where caring and respectful relationships are formed, where individual development is championed and where every child’s voice is heard. Our skilled practitioners do this by implementing personal learning pathways unique to each child, using repetition, knowledge and relevant progressions to build on their interests and strengths. This enables children to experiment, decision make and overcome challenges to develop the skills needed to be confident, independent and successful learners.

Our curriculum is relevant to our environment and inspires awe & wonder from the earliest age. From the inviting indoor rooms to our endless outdoors, we aid children’s personal development through our numerous pedagogical theories, following a mixture of adult led activities and child led learning. We offer open-ended natural resources to encourage children’s imagination and creativity, whilst nurturing their ideas about the world so that they have the ability and are motivated to find out more. Our activities and routines promote independence and security, ensuring children are confident, knowledgeable, have the freedom to explore at their own pace and are equipped for the next stage of their learning.
